Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours are suitable for use on a variety of interior wood surfaces, including floors, furniture, countertops, and wooden toys. They can be applied to both hardwood and softwood surfaces.
Before applying, ensure that the wood surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and contaminants. Stir the product thoroughly before and during use. Apply a thin and even coat using a brush, roller, or applicator pad, following the wood grain. Allow the first coat to dry, typically within 8-10 hours, and then apply a second coat if desired.
Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours can be used on bare wood as well as on wood previously treated with the same or compatible Osmo oil-based products. However, it's important to ensure that the previous treatment is in good condition and free from any other incompatible finishes. Test a small area or consult the manufacturer's guidelines for compatibility with existing treatments.
The drying time of Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours can vary depending on factors such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation. Generally, the first coat dries within 8-10 hours, and the second coat can be applied after that if desired. However, it's recommended to allow the finish to fully cure for approximately 10-14 days before subjecting it to heavy use or placing furniture on the surface.
Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours are designed to be self-sufficient finishes that do not require an additional top coat or varnish. Applying a clear top coat or varnish over them may alter the appearance and performance of the color. If additional protection is desired, it's recommended to choose a compatible clear top coat within the Osmo range and test it on a small inconspicuous area first.
To maintain surfaces finished with Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours, regularly clean with a soft, damp cloth or mop using a mild wood floor cleaner or Osmo Wash and Care. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents or excessive water. If the surface shows signs of wear or becomes dull over time, it can be refreshed by applying a thin maintenance coat of the same Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colour.
Osmo Polyx Hardwax Oil Colours are considered safe for use on children's toys and surfaces that come into contact with food once they have fully cured. It's important to allow the product to dry and cure completely according to the manufacturer's instructions before exposing
