Dulux Trade Metalshield Quick Dry Metal Primer is a water-based paint that seals, primers and protects non-ferrous metal surfaces.

A suitable primer for new bright or weathered galvinised metal.

Provides up to 8 years metal protection when used in conjunction with 2 coats of Dulux Trade Metalshield Gloss or Dulux Trade Metalshield Satin finish coats.

For ferrous metals Dulux Trade Metalshield Zinc Phosphate Primer is recommended as an alternative.

Some variants are non-returnable.

Application Instructions

Application : Brush or roller only. Spray application is not recommended. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply 1 coat of Metalshield QD Primer from Dulux Trade followed by 2 coats of Metalshield Gloss or Satin from Dulux Trade.

Cleaning

After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with water.

Storage

Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.

Q. How do you use Dulux Metalshield?

A. To apply Dulux Metalshield paint the easiest and most practical way to apply it is by brush or roller. The primer can also be applied by spraying it, although this is not as easy if you are unfamiliar with the product than brushing it. Use a good quality synthetic filament paint brush for the best results.

Prime new metal first with the water based Dulux Trade Metalshield Quick Dry Primer then once dry apply two coats of the Dulux Trade Metalshield Gloss or Satin, these however are solvent based and cannot be sprayed. Again use a good quality synthetic filament paint brush for best results.
