Barrettine Bitumen Paint Black provides a uniform solution of white spirit, petroleum and bitumen.

Black Bitumen Paint can be applied as a protection coat on several materials including concrete, cement, metals and wood. It can also be applied as a sealant or priming coat on friable, porous or rough surfaces.

When first applied it initially provides an inaugural gloss finish, weathering to a matt black coating over time. Barrettine Bitumen Paint should not be applied to roofing.

Application Instructions

Barrettine Black Bitumen Paint can be sprayed if diuted minimally with white spirit but this will mean that extra coats will be required.
The product can be applied as a single coat in certain applications but two coats is universally recommended.
Performance is improved where the second coat is applied at right angles to the first but it is not essential to do so.
Leave 2-4 hours before overcoating with the second coat.
A touch test on the 1st coat will indicate readiness.
If applying to metal, ensure the surface is well prepared in advance.
Wire brush off any rust and ensure clean and dry.
Where long-term protection is required treat with a rust-inhibitive product such as red lead or zinc phosphate.

Equipment can be cleaned after use with white spirit.

Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
